What is wellness and how does it benefit us as individuals?
Have you ever woken up and felt like you needed a day to yourself? Or did you wake up looking forward to the gym or, perhaps the opposite, to indulging in your favourite treat instead? All this comes under your own personal wellness and how we benefit from wellness and self-care differs for all of us. But there are several key areas of our lifestyles which contribute to our overall wellness, which include socialising, exercise, nutrition, sleep and mindfulness. Each one can bring a positive benefit to our physical, mental, and emotional health and, by opting for a few simple and healthy lifestyle choices daily, we can make a positive impact on reducing stress and achieving optimal wellness.
Social connections and interactions
Connecting with friends or loved ones is a great way to help improve our emotional and mental health but it is something which can be overlooked with a busy lifestyle and it’s even harder at the moment with restrictions on socialising. Still, you never know, putting time aside to reconnect with your friends and loved ones, even if it’s only virtually, may create stronger relationships which will lead to further happiness, something which we need to maintain during the current time.
Exercise
Just 15 - 20 minutes of daily exercise can have a positive impact on your overall physical wellbeing and really work to improve your mood. A morning walk is always a great way to start! Try listening to a podcast which will not only engage your mind but help you feel motivated.
Nutrition
By adding wholesome ingredients to your plate, you will be taking steps towards becoming a healthier you. Eggs are a great source of protein and biotin - two nutrients that will work wonders for your hair. Pair healthy eating with our luxury Coco & Cherimoya shampoo and conditioner duo when looking for the best hair product and to really feel the benefits of nourished and healthy hair, full of shine and volume!
Sleep
A good sleep regime and plenty of rest is vital for our health and wellbeing. Experts advise us to avoid caffeine after 12pm, take part in quiet and calm activities before going to bed and wake up at the same time every day. If you have a smart watch, try tracking your sleep to really determine the best sleeping pattern for you.
Mindfulness
Did you know that practising mindfulness is good for the body and soul as well as for helping us to balance and focus? Take a moment right now to consider your own mind and how you are feeling. You can aid your relaxation by running a deep, hot bath or reading a book, which will help distract your mind from the stress of everyday life. Try adding our Rhythm & Reef Bath & Shower Gel to your next bath to bring the vibrant colour and vital energy of the ocean to life in your bathroom. Our luxury bath and body collection has been designed to take your bath and body regime to another level whilst transporting you to your place of blissful relaxation.
